West Allegheny High School freshman Mike Behme, assistant captain of the West Allegheny Freshman Team, initiated a project to benefit underprivileged countries entitled Hat Tricks 4 Humanity. 

Mike has been collecting hats from NHL hat tricks and, after a process of cleaning and sanitizing, sending them to countries such as Guatemala and Nicaragua.

To date, Mike has collected over 3,200 hats.
