Terry was born in Scarborough, Ontario and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. He started to play hockey with his brothers at the age of four. He went on to play Major Junior hockey in the Western Hockey League and then began his Professional hockey career. He played 16 years of professional hockey having contracts with the St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins. He won 2 Calder Cup Championships in the AHL. He has played at all levels and returned to his professional roots coaching with the Wheeling Nailers. He decided to go back to the Major Junior level to develop young men in the Western Hockey League with his old team the Tri-City Americans for 3 years, then moved back East to coach the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League for 2 years and helped take the Attack to the Memorial Cup in 2010/2011. He has resided in the area for 15 years during his off seasons with his wife and son. Terry is coaching the 2001 Aviators team and can be reached at pvhockey@airporticearena.com.
