Airport Ice Arena

Our next Learn to Skate session begins Tuesday, September 14, 2010 and runs for seven weeks through Tuesday, October 26, 2010.  Sessions are from 6:00 PM to 6:50 PM.  The price is $120.00.

The Pittsburgh Hockey Academy begins its fall programming on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 with programs designed by Greg Carter, renowned seven time USA Hockey National champion coach and world class instructor serving as the head instructor of the academy.  Involved with running hockey camps and clinics for over 20 years, many of Greg's students have received Division 1 college hockey scholarships and made US National Teams and the US Women's Olympic Team.  Some of his students have been drafted and play in the NHL.

Greg coached the Team Pittsburgh U14 Tier 1 girls team which won the USA Hockey National Championship held in Green Bay, Wisconsin last April, and returns as the team's coach this season.  During the past summer, Greg supervised camps and clinics at the Airport Ice Arena.

Clinics to be offered include:

• Total Skills Clinic - Half hour of individual skill building followed by a half hour of small games
• STOP IT Goalie Clinic - Lead instructor US Women's Olympian Brianne McLaughlin
• Sniper Clinic - Explores various methods of scoring and fundamentals of shooting
• Battle Clinic - Teaching of fundamentals of cornering, angling, and one-on-one battling for puck control/possession
