The Airport Ice Arena is addressing the need for a developmental program to prepare youth for amateur and middle to high school hockey programs. An 8-week program comprising a variety of skating and skills development sessions complemented with cross ice scrimmages ranging from 1-on1 to 4-on-4 formats is being offered to existing teams as well as to individual players.
Recent studies by USA Hockey and the NHL have concluded that a reduced playing surface known as cross-ice produces multiple benefits including increased skill development, more direct competition, and better spacing. Significant advantages of cross-ice hockey include:
2X More Puck Touches Per Player 6X More Shots Per Player
2X More Pass Attempts Per Player 5X More Passes Received Per Player
In each session players will alternate between skills and skating sessions on one half-ice rink and continuous scrimmages on the other half-ice rink. The cost is $360.00 for the 8-week program that will include two hours of ice per week. The program will begin in early March. For more information contact Jason at firstname.lastname@example.org

1. Try on all hockey equipment, and practice getting dressed.
2. Sharpen your skates. The Airport Ice Arena does not sharpen skates. Skate sharpening is available at Total Hockey located at the Pointe at North Fayette, or at Pure Hockey located in Bridgeville and Neville Island.
3. If you are missing any parts to your hockey uniform, please purchase them before class. Note: Make sure you have hockey socks.
4. Mark your equipment. Everyone's equipment will be the same as yours.
It is suggested that you arrive twenty (20) minutes before the start of class. You are expected to be dressed and on the ice at the time your session starts.
